Gugulethu Sofia Mbatha is known by her stage and screen name Gugu Mbatha Raw. The actress became famous because she was a part of the show 'Doctor Who.' Chelsea Joy Handler, born February 25, 1975, in Livingston New Jersey, is the youngest of six children. Handler was the youngest of six children in her family. Her mother was a domestic worker, while her father worked as a used-car dealer. Her mother was an German immigrant who came to this country in United States in 1958. In 1989, she was diagnosed with cancer. She died 10 years afterwards. Handler's father was Jewish, and she was born into Reform Judaism. Handler was raised in a safe area and enjoyed her childhood. As she entered her twenties the Handler moved from the city of her birth to Los Angeles in order to take on acting. Handler began performing to earn some money. Handler, who was then 21 years of age and decided to pursue stand-up comics full time when she discovered her story telling skills. Handler began her career in the Oxygen Network's Girls Behaving poorly, a reality show with concealed cameras and practical jokes. From 2002 to 2005, it was on air. The actress began appearing on other TV shows, such as Weekends at D.L., The Bernie Mac Show, The Practice and My Wife and Kids. Handler was also a the correspondent for The Tonight Show. Handler gained her biggest break in 2006, when she started host her own program on E! the show was titled The Chelsea Show. It lasted for two seasons. Handler was a part of the comedy channel's Hour Stand-Up Comedy Tour the next year in the United States. Stand-up performance by Handler has been aired by VH1 along with Comedy Central's Premium Blend and HBO. The announcement was made in 2010 that she would host the MTV Video Music Awards 2010. With this, she became the first woman to host the VMA's, following Roseanne Barr.
